‘Shilpa’ Sri Lanka, Exhibition

Shilpa Sri Lanka was held in 2008 to commemorate 60 years of Diplomatic relations established between India and Sri Lanka. The Exhibition, “Shilpa Sri Lanka” showcases the skills of Sri Lankan handicrafts.

The Exhibition demonstrates the skills by the Sri Lankan artisans, and through their interaction with the Indian craftsmen and their exquisite products, it is hoped that the Indian artisans would be benefited further by way of conceptual clarity and creativity.

The Exhibition also provides a unique opportunity to artisans for sharing their skills and techniques in developing fusion products.

More than 30 skilled craftsmen from Sri Lanka displayed rich collections in batik, wood carving, gems & jewellery, exquisite embroidery, brass ware, shell and stone.
